Omega-3 EPA/DHA Concentrate — Supplements
High-potency concentrated omega-3 formulation providing therapeutic EPA and DHA doses.
Overview
Concentrated omega-3 supplements provide high-potency EPA and DHA in ethyl ester or re-esterified triglyceride forms. The REDUCE-IT trial demonstrated that high-dose EPA (icosapent ethyl, 4 g/day) reduced cardiovascular events by 25% in statin-treated patients with elevated triglycerides. Omega-3 concentrates allow therapeutic dosing of EPA and DHA without the bulk of standard fish oil. EPA has predominantly anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective effects, while DHA is preferentially incorporated into neural and retinal membranes.
Indications
- Hypertriglyceridemia management
- Cardiovascular risk reduction
- Systemic inflammation reduction
- Cognitive and neurological support (DHA)
