Overview
Nandrolone Phenylpropionate (NPP) is the shorter-acting ester of nandrolone, with a half-life of 2-4 days compared to 6-8 days for nandrolone decanoate. It was the first commercially available form of nandrolone (Durabolin, introduced 1959) and was also the first anabolic steroid detected in doping (1960s Olympics). NPP provides the same anabolic and joint-supportive benefits as Deca-Durabolin but with faster onset of action, quicker clearance, and more frequent dosing requirements. The shorter half-life allows for faster dose adjustments, quicker side effect management, and shorter detection times. Like all nandrolone derivatives, it has progestogenic activity and must be co-administered with a testosterone base.
