CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin for Muscle Recovery — Performance & Recovery

GH secretagogue combination with some human trial data. NEITHER FDA-approved. CJC-1295 Phase 2 TERMINATED (death). Ipamorelin Phase 2 FAILED efficacy.

Overview

CJC-1295 (GHRH analog by ConjuChem) combined with Ipamorelin (GHRP by Novo Nordisk) is marketed as a synergistic GH stack. CRITICAL EVIDENCE STATUS: NEITHER peptide is FDA-approved. CJC-1295 Phase 1 trials (2006) confirmed GH/IGF-1 elevation (2-10x GH, 1.5-3x IGF-1), but Phase 2 was TERMINATED after a subject death from myocardial infarction (likely unrelated but development stopped). Ipamorelin Phase 2 FAILED its primary efficacy endpoint (postoperative ileus) and Novo Nordisk DISCONTINUED development. PROVEN: Both increase GH/IGF-1 levels. NOT PROVEN: Muscle gain, fat loss, anti-aging effects, or ANY clinical benefit in healthy adults. NO clinical trials exist for the combination. FDA warns of immunogenicity (anaphylaxis potential) and cardiovascular risks (tachycardia, flushing, hypotension). BANNED by WADA as growth hormone secretagogues. LONGEVITY PARADOX: Animal studies consistently show LOWER GH/IGF-1 associated with longer lifespans.

Indications

  • GH/IGF-1 elevation (proven in Phase 1 trials)
  • Athletic recovery (NOT proven in clinical trials)
  • Muscle growth (NOT proven - no body composition trials)
  • Age-related GH decline (off-label, no efficacy data)

Mechanism of Action

Reduced growth hormone secretion occurs with aging (somatopause)
