BPC-157 for Injury Recovery & Tissue Repair — Performance & Recovery

Body Protective Compound-157 for accelerated healing of tendons, ligaments, muscles, and gut tissue.

Overview

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. It demonstrates remarkable tissue healing properties across multiple organ systems, particularly tendons, ligaments, muscles, and the gastrointestinal tract. Preclinical evidence shows BPC-157 promotes angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation), enhances collagen synthesis, activates growth factor pathways (VEGF, GH receptors), and reduces inflammation. While human clinical trials are limited, a 2024 systematic review of 36 studies confirms consistent injury healing benefits in animal models, and a 2020 pilot study established safety in humans. BPC-157 is especially popular among athletes and those recovering from musculoskeletal injuries or dealing with chronic gut issues.

Indications

  • Tendon injuries (Achilles, rotator cuff, tennis elbow, patellar tendinitis)
  • Ligament sprains and tears (ACL, MCL, ankle ligaments)
  • Muscle strains, tears, and delayed healing
  • Post-surgical tissue repair and recovery acceleration
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, leaky gut)
  • GI tract protection and healing (ulcers, NSAID damage, SIBO)
  • Joint pain and osteoarthritis symptom relief
  • Chronic inflammation and connective tissue disorders

Mechanism of Action

Trauma to tendons, ligaments, muscles, or gastrointestinal mucosal damage triggers inflammatory cascade

Dosing

CompoundDoseFrequencyNotes
BPC-157250-500 mcgOnce dailyMost common protocol for tendon/ligament/muscle injuries. Inject near injury site if possible
BPC-157500-750 mcgTwice daily (morning & evening)For acute injuries or faster healing. Split dose for sustained levels
BPC-157500-1000 mcgOnce or twice daily on empty stomachFor IBD, leaky gut, ulcers. Take 30 min before meals for direct mucosal contact
BPC-157250-500 mcgOnce dailyPreventive protocol for NSAID users or GLP-1 GI side effects
BPC-157200-400 mcgOnce or twice dailyAlternative to injection, good for systemic effects and brain-gut axis support
BPC-157 250-500 mcg + TB-500 2-5 mgBPC daily, TB-500 weeklySynergistic stack for comprehensive tissue repair. TB-500 for systemic regeneration

Safety & Contraindications

  • Generally well-tolerated in preclinical and limited human studies
  • Most common side effects: mild injection site reactions, temporary fatigue
  • No serious adverse events reported in human safety trial (IV dosing up to 10 mcg/kg)
  • Long-term safety data in humans is limited - use with appropriate caution
  • Avoid during active cancer (promotes angiogenesis which could theoretically support tumor growth)
  • Pregnancy/breastfeeding: No human data, avoid use
  • May interact with anticoagulants - monitor for increased bleeding risk
  • Use sterile technique for all injectable formulations
  • Oral BPC-157 stability less established than injectable - refrigerate after reconstitution
