Boldenone Undecylenate (Equipoise) for Lean Mass & Vascularity — Anabolic Steroids

Long-acting veterinary AAS with 14-day half-life. Known for lean gains, vascularity, and appetite stimulation.

Overview

Boldenone Undecylenate (Equipoise/EQ) is a veterinary anabolic steroid originally developed for use in horses. Structurally, boldenone differs from testosterone by a single double bond at the 1-position, giving it unique pharmacological properties. The undecylenate ester provides a very long half-life of approximately 14 days, allowing for infrequent injection. Boldenone has a moderate anabolic-to-androgenic ratio, aromatizes at approximately 50% the rate of testosterone, and is known for stimulating appetite, enhancing vascularity, and producing lean, quality gains over extended cycles. It strongly stimulates erythropoietin production, significantly increasing red blood cell count and hemoglobin - which can be both therapeutic and dangerous. Boldenone was briefly marketed for human use (Parenabol) but discontinued in the late 1970s. All current supply is from veterinary or underground production.

Indications

  • No current human medical indications
  • Veterinary use: growth promotion and appetite stimulation in horses
  • Lean mass accrual and body composition optimization (non-medical)
  • Vascularity enhancement
  • Appetite stimulation during caloric surplus phases
  • Long-cycle lean tissue building
  • Endurance enhancement via erythropoiesis

Mechanism of Action

Desire for quality lean gains, enhanced vascularity, and appetite stimulation over extended 16-20 week cycles

Dosing

CompoundDoseFrequencyNotes
Boldenone Undecylenate (Equipoise)300-500 mgOnce weeklyStandard lean mass building; requires long cycle (16-20 weeks) due to slow onset
Boldenone Undecylenate (Equipoise)200-300 mgOnce weeklyConservative dosing for endurance and appetite support; lower erythropoietic risk

Safety & Contraindications

  • NOT approved for human use - veterinary compound
  • Schedule III controlled substance
  • Very long half-life (14 days) means slow onset and slow clearance of side effects
  • Strongly stimulates erythropoietin - can dangerously elevate hematocrit/hemoglobin
  • Monitor hematocrit closely - therapeutic phlebotomy may be required
  • Mild aromatization (~50% of testosterone) - some estrogenic effects possible
  • Anxiety and anxiogenic effects reported by some users
  • Suppresses natural testosterone - always use with testosterone base
  • Very long detection time: up to 18 months (undecylenate ester)
  • May increase blood pressure via erythrocytosis and mild water retention
  • Not hepatotoxic (injectable, not alkylated)
  • Slow onset: 4-6 weeks before effects are noticeable; requires long cycles (16-20 weeks)
